Poland!

This weekend Yoland meets Poland.. I’m on the Simple Express bus on my way to Poznań in Poland, three hours by bus east of Berlin. At -6 degrees outside it’s icy cold and it’s only getting colder!
I’ve never been to Poland before, but I know at least four Polish people, one of whom is married to my cousin. They all have interesting stories to tell, with or without ice cold vodka, and I’m curious to see a little bit of the world that these curious individuals come from.

I’m staying with a good friend of a good friend, whom I’ve never met, so it’s going to be quite an adventure!

The mission of my trip is to collect interesting fabrics in the form of second hand clothes and the reason I am going to Poland for this mainly because second hand clothes in Berlin are expensive and I will be needing quite a number of pieces. I’m very curious to see what kinds of fabrics I’ll be able to find, hopefully I’ll come across interesting weaves, faded colours and unusual prints.

Back in Berlin for 2014!

After three beautiful, heart-warming weeks in South Africa, I am happy to be back home in Berlin and to start this exciting new year filled with ideas and expectations. This year I hope to blog a lot so that all my loved ones far away can take a peek into my daily life and maybe find some inspiration in the interesting objects, situations and encounters that cross my path.
