New Year's in Berlin was FANTASTIC! The city was packed with people from all over the world, the trains were buzzing with activity and everyone was migrating towards the Brandenberg Tör. We made it just in time.. but first we visited some of our favourite parts of Berlin. Shopping in the Mitte, late thai lunch at Papaya in Friedrichshain, drinks and fire crackers in Kreuzberg and then the slip 'n' slide through the snow in the Tiergarten to the carnival in the city centre..

We watched the entire impressive fireworks display from behind those tress..hmm. But they were still super!
Getting home took some time.. seems we weren't the only ones with that idea!
The police felt they needed to make their presence felt and did so by holding up the crowds in the tube station.. bizarre.
